This book offers practical application of yoga philosophy. In reading and practicing, your mind will be transformed!
The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World
by The Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Doublas Carlton Abrams
I mean, a book written by these two?! It goes without speaking that this book drips with insight and wisdom. I often refer clients to it’s practices for joy.
Deep Listening: A Healing Practice to Calm Your Body, Clear Your Mind, and Open Your Heart
by Jillian Pransky
This book is rich with information, yoga practices and meditations. Pransky writes and guides one into a safe and soft space gently and beautifully. This is a great resource!
Gather
by Octavia Raheem
Amazon recommended this book for me. I don’t always take such recommendations to heart, but this one called me. Each passage I read I’d find myself exclaiming, “Um, yes!” Potent wisdom in this little book.
The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have
by Mark Nepo
I have a friend who is a sage recommender of books. She introduced me to this book a few years ago. Each passage speaks to me personally. I often pull from this book for inspiration in sequencing my yoga classes and meditations. And though I’ve read many more books by Nepo since this introduction, I’m on my third read through of Awakening and it continues to give more each time through.
Inward
by Yung Pueblo
I first heard of this author during an “On Being” podcast interview. I was so taken by his presence that I immediately ordered two of his books. Book purists would anger at me for all of the many dog-eared pages in my copy. This book is a collection of prose and poems and profound thoughts that will resonate with your soul! Also, the best insight on “self-love.”
Clarity & Connection
by Yung Pueblo
This book continues where Inward left off. Pueblo offers contemplations on healing the self from the inside out.
To Bless the Space Between Us
by John O’Donohue
O’Donohue’s poems in this book nourish the reader through many times of life. Seek him for inspiration and comfort.
